Google really has it

Wow,

I remember the first time I heard about Google. It was 1999 and I was hooked on using infoseek.

It took alot to get me to switch, but after awhile I found that everyone time I loaded a browser, my default page was Google. It seemed to work well for me.

Then over the years, they've been able to add advertising revenue and even take the whole thing public. I was all set to buy some shares, but I figured, nah, I don't see it happening...ah...now that they've quadrupled, I wish I'd but a little.

Oh well. Keep on Googling.

In Your Lifetime

How many of you can recall a time before there was endless porn available (almost) instantly to you via the wonders of the Internet? Okay, how many of you can recall a time before the Internet?

It was really not all that many years ago that we somehow survived without the joys of www, email, im, laptops, databases, etc etc. NONE of that stuff existed! It was really not that long ago. I suppose some might call those days the dark ages. They were dark because we weren't constantly lighting up our rooms at night from the glow of a monitor filled with happy little pixels providing us with more information than we could ever possibly use.

I know that this post is not exactly on a cutting edge topic. But sometimes it is a great idea to take a step back and notice the things that are re-shaping the world. That is, rather than continually and obliviously having your world shaped by strong forces that are beyond your control, take a moment to observe those forces. Is this the zen of technology?

Unlikely, but for your own sake, please be aware of technology and the changes it is having on your life today. Forget about trying to predict how it will affect future generations. It is changing far too quickly to be able to predict that far in advance. Can you even say how technology will affect your life out even five years. There, I think you now see how important it is to take a look at how technology is affecting your life now.

Solo Sites

There are a few types of porn sites out there, and one of them is a solo girl site. The solo girl sites are pretty easy to spot, when you see one girl over and over again on the same page, and she is in all the updates and photo sets, then you're most likely at a solo girl site.

So, now what? Well, usually the girl is hot or has a hook. She is a punk with big tits...she is a hot blonde teen. Like that. So you need to decide if you like what you see. More often than not, the member's area of these sites have a lot of good quality and quantity of content on the solo girl, so these are pretty safe joins.

Just make sure you want a steady diet of Brandy, Trixie, or Sally for the next month, because most of these sites also only offer monthly memberships.

Mainstream Movies

This post is nothing more than a simple rant on the subject of mainstream movies. Those not interested in a rant should move on. Quickly.

Okay, why is it that every movie these days draws from the same tiny talent pool? There are so very many skilled actors and actresses out there - likely many of them are working in a coffee shop near you. But breaking through into the big time is something that so very few of them ever do.

Then for (what seems like) all of eternity, a few people keep marching around on the big screen (and the little screen also) making us laugh, smile and cry. They hog all the attention, and make the big bucks. All the B and C listers don't have a chance.

Why is this? Well, simple economics unfortunately. It makes economic sense for the producers to pay for the big name stars, as they draw the attention, fill the seats and grab the eyeballs. That doesn't mean that any particular screenplay would be worse using lessor known talent. That is, the quality of the movie could be just as high. But still the big name stars get used, because in turn, they bring the bucks.

I hope this will start to change, what with the Internet making it easier for independent film producers to market and distribute their wares. I, for one, prefer movies with lesser known actors. If I haven't already seen this person a gazillion times, it makes the movie much better. For me, the big name stars already have too much of a story about them, which distracts me from what I'm watching and interferes with the new story - the movie or film.

Okay, back to the porn.

pop music and the morality of glorifying drug use

We all know that drugs are bad (mmmmmmkay?) but do the major record labels? Of course they do. They also know that money is good and are willing to do pretty much anything to get it.

Quick question - what do smoking two joints in the morning, having a drug dealer on speed dial and dancing with mary jane all have in common? They are all reference to the coolness of drug use contained in wildly popular songs. I bring this up not because adults don't (or at least shouldn't) know better. Rather, people of a more impressionable age listen to this stuff and get the idea that drugs are cool.

Is this really any different from a pusher offering free hits to people outside a place of education? Of course it is. But still, why don't people ask questions about this. The lack of critical thought applied to what is commonly being consumed as pop culture from people of an age group that are not yet able to make good decisions about their life is a concern to me. It should be a concern for parents everywhere.

Got Blog?

Okay cats, how many of you out there have a blog of your own? Running your own blog is as simple as falling down a flight of stairs and more fun that a barrel full of monkeys. I'm sure a ton of you out there have carved out your own little corner of the net for blogging, vanity or whatever. I mention this as we would like to hook up with you. Not in the sexual sense (although that might be possible...) but in the link sense. If your blog is intended for grown ups, then we could swap some wives - i mean links. Batts is a great guy and he hit us up to swap way back in the day. We thought others would come along and say "hi, lets trade" but that didn't happen. It turns out that you actually need to try to make something happen. who'd a thunk that? So drop a line you've got blog and we'll get it on like diddy kong.

No...She's a Pornstar!

There's no way these girls you see blinking around from your area are all from your area. I saw one ad the other day, and the girl was a porn star that I've seen a few times. Its also funny, because when you do click on the ad, like you're ever going to get a date with her, she's not on the next page.

How stupid do they think porn surfers are? They're just trying to get you to go to the next page, and they'll lie to you and show you porn starlets to do it. That's weak. The girls should be there, or they shouldn't be able to use them in their ads.

Anyways, these dating sites are on fire right now, seems like everyone is doing online dating and hooking up for some quick wham bams. Check out the Rover's Dating section and get into the action!

How Many Memberships?

Last night I was having a beer with a couple friends down at The Cactus and sooner or later the conversation turned to porn. Since I hooked up with Rover's and started writing, it seems that my friends now think I'm the porn guru with a all the answers. Actually, I just have more questions now, and even less real answers than before.

The topic that came up last night was paysite memberships. I was curious as to how many memberships a normal person might have at any given time. I have three (yes three) different memberships. Some people might think that is a lot, and honestly, one should be enough for most people. With the massive volume of video content that most of the big porn companies now put on their sites, one should do it.

But as much as I like all-you-can-eat restaurants, I guess I also like all I can watch porn. One of my buddies had just that - one membership. He has a password to All Sites Access by the Nasty Dollars crew. That is one of the best ones out there and it should keep him happy. the other buddy doesn't join sites and is satisfied with the free samples that are available everywhere. I guess as long as he doesn't know what he is missing, that will do.

So how many memberships does the average person have? Well, show me an average person first. Then I'll work on the other question. In the meantime, I'm heading back into one of the sites for some good downloads.

Hot Little Blonde Thang

There is a tasty little number that took a ride with the Backseat Bangers recently. She is Heidi and you should check her out. Go to Backseat Bangers for a look at the action. (You'll need to click through to the tour.) Enjoy that one. Peace.

Random Thoughts

What is it with all the porn companies now putting up ads with your city name in it? You know that ones I'm talking about. You'll be happily checking out a bunch of different porn sites, but they all seem to claim that the action is being shot in your city. Not only that, but all the online dating ads that you inevitably come across in your hunt for the right jerking material feature unbelievable hotties that supposedly live in your neck of the woods and simply can't find a guy willing to take down such a hot piece of ass. Please.

These web savvy marketing masters have simply mastered some technology that is widely available if you are looking for it. The can figure out what city you're in simply by your IP address. No, they don't know where you live exactly (yet anyway) but they do know more or less where you are, possibly even you zip code.

The whole thing creeps me out a little. When I'm surfing late at night in the privacy (that I think I have) it is disconcerting to say the least for these porn companies to know where I am. I personally don't need to be reminded that someone might be keeping an eye on what I'm doing when I'm just trying to look at some dirty pictures.
