Whoa, there has been some big changes here at the Rover's Reviews blog today. There was some formatting that we thought could be improved, so we improved it. Our aim with the new look was to present all the same information, but with a fresher and cleaner look and feel. In hindsight, the old version looked a bit like some un-talented graphic designer with a huge complex decided to just keep adding colors as they came into her mind. (Imagine a demented voice saying "and yellow, and orange, and pink, and brown, and green...") Fuck, what else could we add....more cowbell? But I digress. Hope you like the new look because it is here to stay, unless we decide to change it again.

Is the Web getting Slower?

Of course the web is getting faster, right? What with faster servers, bigger pipes and high-speed internet service for everyone. All that sounds great. But web content is getting bigger too. Websites have more and more features, bigger pictures, and videos at higher resolution and larger screen size. So what does this really mean? Well, I find that sometimes simple web surfing seems slower to me now then back in the good old days (the late 90s) when both my computer and internet connection was slower. If the aim is faster access to information on the internet, then search engines that are jammed up with virus infested spam pages and websites that are very heavy in terms of file size are not helping things. Just another late night rant, sorry about that.
